RESPONSIBILITIES：
1.  Act as first tier in alert response and incident/problem resolution, as well as in identifying production related incidents and issues. 
2.  This includes detection of system, application, or performance degradation or unavailability.  Also track the resolution of any system or application problems.
3.  Monitoring of NIM’s NMS for faults and alerts, as well as enhancement/refinement of NMS to provide more insight into production.
4.  Maintain production problem/issues log on a daily basis a detailed log of any production related issues and incidents including their causes & resolutions.
5.  Acts as central point of contact for production related incidents & problems, including providing detailed and immediate notification and updates to key individuals/groups.
6.  Detailed troubleshooting, deployment, migration, maintenance and administration of the following: Linux, Apache, PostgreSQL, HP and Dell servers, Cisco/Foundry/Juniper network devices.
7.  Routine production activities, including posting of data sets, running performance reports, managing backup jobs and archiving.
8.  Documentation of network and server topology, as well as operating procedures.
9.  Monitoring of NIM ticketing system, as well triage and resolution of 1st tier requests (account creations, access requests, etc).
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.  1 to 2 years experience with Linux, FreeBSD, or other UNIX
2.  1 to 2 years experience with MS Windows XP and Window Server 2003 operating systems preferred
3.  1 to 2 years experience with Apache and with UNIX services (DNS, NFS, Samba, SSH, etc) 
4.  Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking
5.  1 to 2 years experience with SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
6.  Hands-on experience with Networking Products (Cisco, Foundry, Juniper
7.  1 to 2 years experience working within a datacenter environment. Knowledge of system monitoring and ticketing software.
8.  Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively handle concurrent projects
9.  Good written and oral interdepartmental communication skills 
10. Ability and availability to be on-call 24 hours a day on a rotating schedule. 
11. A PLUS
12. Web/HTML experience, and Python preferred
13. Firewall and router experience
14. UNIX or Cisco certifications a plus
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS：
The NOC provides 24x7x365 coverage and the NOC Engineer may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The ideal candidate will be willing to work a flexible schedule, including the off-shifts (2nd or 3rd shift).
