Linux Specialist

Job description:
You will join Storage Software Department of Celestica Global Design Service as a (senior) software engineer. We are looking for talented individuals with great interests of investigation in Linux kernel and its various distributions.  In this position, you will be responsible to develop Linux base software for storage products (RAID controllers, disk array enclosures, network attached storage systems, and storage servers) and deliver turn-key solutions for customers.  Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
1) Create software design specifications and perform detailed design activities including coding, code inspection, unit test, integration test and functional verification.
2) Software test/verification and debug, support system integration and validation.
3) Follow processes/quality guidelines and adopt best practices of software development to meet commitments for quality, deliverables, and schedule.
4) Investigate Linux kernel and spread the knowledge within various product engineering teams.
5) As representative of Celestica storage software team in Linux and open source community.
Qualification:
1) BS + 5-7 years or MS + 3-5 years experience in Linux based software development.
2) Solid C and shell programming skills.
3) Be familiar with one or more of the following Linux distributions: Red Hat, SuSE, Debian, Ubuntu, etc.  Hands on experience of installation, configuration, and maintenance Linux based system.
4) Hands on experience of the GNU tool chain.
5) Be familiar with at least one script programming language: perl, python, Tcl, etc.
6) Previous experience of diagnostic program development of enterprise server/storage products is a big plus.
7) Kernel level knowledge of IPC, memory management, device driver, file system, network services, etc.
8) Knowledge of one or more of the following standards/technologies: SCSI, ATA, SES, IPMI, RAID, SAS, SATA, SSD, SMART, PCI Express, InfiniBand, etc.
9) Good interpersonal skills.
10) Fluent in English speaking and literacy.
